Founder's Day 2024

On Sunday 15th September, the 68th Anniversary of the Club, we held our annual reunion for past and present members. There was a display of photographs showing members at the club and club events over the years.
Several people told me they came expecting not to know anyone and were so pleased to reunite with past friends and share happy memories of the club, often using the photos from the display. Someone summed it up by saying "the friends made at Rudyard lasted for generations, a fact which bears testament to how special RLSC is".
Geoff Holmes was a Founder member of the club and the organiser of the Founders Day reunions for many years, he even had input to this year's event prior to his death in July. At this year's event we had a memorial table for Geoff, and many people added comments and memories to his book. I was so pleased that Geoff's wife, Brenda, and his two daughters, Heather and Karen, agreed to cut the anniversary cake.

We also remembered other past members who have passed away during the last 12 months, including Victoria Wardle, Alan Evans, David Brown and Dave Richards.
I promised Geoff that I will continue his legacy and organise the annual reunion. If you have any photos you would like to add to future displays please let me know.
