2014-09-21 09.04.44logoRudyard Lake Sailing Club is a friendly family based sailing club catering for all ages and abilities. We have an extensive racing calendar on Sundays and Wednesday evenings from March till December. Our very active youth section (Jybaz) meets on Saturdays. We cater for all levels of experience, so if you are new to sailing or needing to brush up on your skills, our Training events and other activities are available throughout the year. Or if you just want to join the club and sail you are most welcome. Social events take place through the year. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIDEO FOR AN INTRODUCTION TO THE CLUB.

The club is located in Staffordshire between Macclesfield and Leek, alongside Rudyard Lake. Its stunning new clubhouse, built in 2000 is also ideal as a venue for Wedding Receptions and Meetings. It has disabled access to most areas, changing rooms with great showers, galley, licensed bar, and a friendly environment for all the family. An Automatic External Defibrillator funded by the “Big Lottery – Awards for All” scheme and Leek & District Sports Council is located outside the main entrance.

DSC_1714The club encourages racing. This takes several different formats including whole club handicaps, pursuit racing, fleet racing and a ladder series. We currently have two main classes – Solos (a single handed boat) and Albacores (a two man boat). In addition we have an extensive fleet of other boats racing including the Enterprise, Laser, RS 400 and K1, and for juniors Optimists, Laser Picos and Toppers. We also own Challengers and Access dinghies which are particularly suitable for people with a wide range of disabilities. Rescue boat cover is provided for club organised sailing but members can sail at any time at their own risk.Picture 028

The club is an RYA recognised training centre and we provide RYA training courses at beginner, intermediate and advance levels. We also do Power Boat training and a variety of other courses.
