Roll of Honour 2010: who won what

August Regatta The Sunday was "blessed" with very strong winds such that only one race was possible (won by Paul Gimson), whilst the bank holiday Monday was a beautiful sailing day. Peter Tyers won the bottle for winning on Monday and just managed to win the trophy overall. Paul Gimson was second although he was actually equal on points. Eric Haselden was third and Mike Jacot was given a special prize for endeavour on the Sunday
Solo Open There were 24 entrants in this years Solo Open, with what might best be described as variable winds. Phil Blakeman took home the silver as first Solo boat.
Albacore and Enterprise Open Well done to Eric Haselden and Jules Anthony for being first RLSC boat in the recent open. And to Larry Muir and Karen Holmes for first Rudyard boat in the Enterprise Open - taking a break from the RS400!
Easter Regatta Well, sometimes Mother Nature has other ideas! Sunday saw a stiff force 5 from the North - meaning that it was bitterly cold. HRO David Burnham made the most of it, by setting a beat for the full length of the lake - with the inevitable gybing course back down. Peter and Paula Tyers showed their mastery of the conditions with three wins in their Albacore. Despite the forecast for stronger winds on Monday, in fact there was a moderate southerly, but with plenty of holes and shifts to make it interesting (?). Once again Team Tyers showed how its done with two more wins to dominate the event. But maybe some competition is on the way with Sam Tyers coming in fourth - well done!
April Fools Race HRO Geoff Holmes set a cunning course with a running start and no sound signals (a reminder to know those flags).  Geoff Couch won the short race, being chased by two other solos and two albacores. Well done Geoff!
Endurance series The Endurance series lived up to its name with some bitterly cold conditions. The series was dominated by Eric Haselden and Jules Anthony in their National 12, but by the last races they had joined the Albacore fleet - and showed their pace in that boat too!
Champagne Race  The first prize of 2010 was for the champagne race, the first race of the season held on February 28th. The race was won by Eric Haselden and Jules Anthony in their National 12. We hope they enjoyed the bubbly!
